From early passion to professional purpose — a journey built on care, creativity, and connection.

A Journey That Comes Full Circle

Growing up in city of Langley, I’ve always believed that health begins with connection — connection to people, to purpose, and to place. My story began far away, in Iran, but my roots truly deepened here in British Columbia, where I arrived with my family at the age of five.

Langley quickly became home. I attended Douglas Park Elementary School, spent my childhood in downtown Langley, and learned early what it meant to belong to a community that values care, kindness, and connection.

Now, years later, I’ve come full circle — back to the heart of Langley — serving the very community that raised me.

Where My Passion for Oral Health Began

Even as a child, I was fascinated by oral health and dentistry. I would play “dentist” at home, examining my parents’ teeth and pretending to care for their smiles. In grade one, when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I proudly wrote: dentist.

By high school, I was already immersed in the dental world — working as a sterilization coordinator at an endodontic office. That early exposure led me to assist an oral surgeon, who became a mentor and encouraged me to pursue formal training.

I soon became a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) specializing in oral surgery where I started seeing the true value of prevention helping deal with oral cancer forms, and complicated cases, mostly preventable or stoppable at an early stage.

Those early experiences taught me the value of prevention. I didn’t want to meet patients only when it was too late — I wanted to help them stay healthy before problems began.

From Dental Assisting to Dental Hygiene

In 2007, I earned my Dental Hygiene Diploma and went on to work across private practices and periodontal specialty clinics, collaborating with dentists, oral surgeons, and periodontists to co-manage complex cases.

Over nearly 17 years, I’ve seen the full spectrum of oral health — from preventive maintenance to advanced periodontal care — and those experiences deepened my respect for every layer of clinical collaboration.

My desire to expand my diagnostic and clinical depth brought me back to the University of British Columbia (UBC), where I completed the Bachelor of Dental Science in Dental Hygiene — the highest level of dental hygiene education in Canada.

There, I developed advanced understanding in pathology, microbiology, oral-systemic health, and diagnostic decision-making, gaining the confidence to manage patients comprehensively and independently as a Dental Hygiene Practitioner (DHP). That education reinforced what I’ve always believed: oral health is inseparable from overall well-being.

Near Me Therapy: An Integrated Healthcare Centre

Together with my husband, Dr. Shervin Ranjbar, a chiropractor specializing in rehabilitation and movement science, we created Near Me Therapy — an integrated healthcare center in Langley City that re imagines how patients experience health.

Our foundation combines dental hygiene, chiropractic care, physiotherapy, massage therapy, and kinesiology, with an expanding network that includes foot care nursing, counseling, acupuncture, naturopathic medicine, and nurse practitioner services.

Our mission is simple: to make healthcare accessible, collaborative, and modern — blending clinical excellence with community-driven care. From in-clinic visits in Langley to mobile wellness services across Surrey and the Fraser Valley, Near Me Therapy bridges the gap between convenience and comprehensive care.

Design, Detail, and Dedication

Beyond healthcare, I’ve always had a creative soul. Whether it’s fashion, renovation, or interior design, I’ve always had a love for design. I see beauty in transformation — from restoring vintage furniture to re-imagining spaces that inspire calm, comfort, and confidence.

That same creative energy flows into how I care for patients: detail-oriented, gentle, and personal. To me, whether it’s rejuvenating a forgotten piece of furniture or helping someone regain their health and smile — it’s all about restoration and renewal.
