Kinesiology & ICBC Active Rehab FAQ
How soon can I start active rehab after a car accident?
Most patients start within 1–2 days of contacting us. Have your ICBC claim number ready when you book.
Can active rehab be done at home or at my gym?
Yes. Harman Bains, our kinesiologist, offers mobile kinesiology, including ICBC active rehab, at homes, retirement and care homes, workplaces and gyms in Langley, Cloverdale and Clayton Heights, with other areas considered case by case. We bill ICBC directly.
Does ICBC cover kinesiology and active rehab?
Yes. For eligible claims, ICBC pre-approves a set number of treatments in the first 12 weeks after an accident, and we bill ICBC directly. If you need more care, we work with your ICBC recovery specialist.
What's the difference between physiotherapy and kinesiology?
Physiotherapy focuses on assessing and treating injuries with hands-on care and exercise. Kinesiology focuses on coached exercise to rebuild strength, stability and confidence. Many patients use both.
Is active rehab only for car accidents?
No. Kinesiology also helps after work injuries, sports injuries and surgery, and is part of our Back to the Gym Program.
Do I need a referral for active rehab?
No. You can book directly online or by calling 1-866-321-3811.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear comfortable athletic clothing and shoes, and bring your ICBC claim number or insurance details.
